| Description I don't know what the meaning of the black dress is. A young widow still in mourning? Couldn't be, the customs of the day wouldn't allow for a re-marriage so soon. Maybe a close relative died after the plans for the wedding was in place? It certainly looks like she has been crying a lot and he doesn't look so happy either. Was it common to wear a black bridal gown? Please tell. | |||
