| SOLD Prairie Wheat Harvest Panorama Titled: J. Daly's Threshing Outfit. Wilcox, Sask. | |||
| Date & Maker c1925-30 Capitol Studios, Regina, Saskatchewan CANADA | |||
| Description It has that "John Steinbeck" feel. The men all look like Henry Fonda in the "Grapes of Wrath". The details of this Panorama Photograph are amazing, you can see every buckle on the harnesses of the quartet of horses on the right, in front of the "STEWART LOADER". There are 5 teams of horses waiting their turn to have their loads threshed. The young ladies posing in front of the Steam Engine's rear wheel are a nice touch. Note the guy with the oil can nearby. What I find so interesting is the smoke. I believe it was a Darkroom Creation, hard to tell though, it's that well done. It certainly makes the picture. Excellent Quality, fine focus, great poses & composition. Clarity & contrast are perfect. I have not taken it out of the frame, didn't want to touch it. I scanned some photos & used my camera for others, in any case....the real thing is so much better. A great historical image. | |||
