FP 4 SMALL VICTORIAN STERLING SILVER DOUBLE FRAME for 25th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Description This miniature Antique Sterling Photo Frame contains the original photographs of the celebrated couple in 1872, the year they were married and 25 years later in 1897, their Silver Wedding Anniversary. Both dates are engraved in the cartouche between the circles. The photos can be removed by carefully pressing on the glass and thereby pushing them out. This frame was never an Easel Frame, it was meant to hang. It no doubt had a small silk cord with a tiny tassel. I added the red suede ribbon.
Condition The images are in poor shape because someone tried to pry them out & tore them. Still, they are clear & present a nice record of a happily married couple of a bygone era. The frame was split in 2 places which my silver smith repaired. The frame looks perfect from the front but the back shows its age. Please enlarge my photos for closer inspection.
Comments The frame could be English. The marks on the tiny circle on the reverse were obscured during the repair.
