Description This is a genuine photograph taken after the historic fire of the 2nd Portland City Hall. Note the Icicles everywhere. The photo is of high technical quality as can be expected from a professional photographer. The choice of printing paper is perfect for this subject matter. It is silver colored single weight paper with an iridescent sheen which cannot be conveyed via computer. The signs on the lower left of the adjacent building are crystal clear. The following is a paragraph from the WHITE HOUSE First Lady's LAURA BUSH website: Under Portland's preservation program, city-owned landmarks such as Portland City Hall are receiving the kind of high-quality repairs and restoration they deserve. The Portland City Hall was designed by Carrere and Hastings of New York, one of the nation's leading architectural firms at the turn of the century. Two previous city halls stood on this site. The first fell victim to a large fire in 1866; the rebuilt hall burned in 1908. The architects are perhaps best known for their design of the New York Public Library, but Carrere is said to have been especially pleased with his design here. Condition The photo itself is in fine shape with a few pin pricks in the sky area and minor tears here & there along the edges. The mounting is still flat without creases, just minor lifting at left upper edge. The mat has some small nibbles along the edges.
Comments This is an actual silver colored print with a metallic shimmer. To my knowledge this was a commercially available photographic printing paper. It was not toned by the photographer. Correct me if I'm wrong.
