| SOLD c1880-1890 CABINET CARD PHOTOGRAPH of a COLONIAL INDIA ARMY OFFICER, BENGAL LANCER ? | |||
| Date & Maker Photographer unknown | |||
| Description A striking photograph taken by a professional photographer of a Colonial India Cavalry Officer. I know nothing about military uniforms of that period in Indian History. The information I found leads me to believe that this dignified gent is a Lancer, maybe a Bengal Lancer maybe a Altar Lancer. Is he Indian or an Englishman in an Indian uniform? The scribbles on the reverse are hard to decipher. I can make out "formerly" & "Cambridge". The photo is of high quality, well posed & lit with exc. details. | |||
