Sixth-plate. Unattributed Daguerreotype of a determined young Lady. Either Canadian or American. Much nicer than these scans. There is an overall softness to the focus of the head & hands indicating she moved slightly during exposure since the the pleats on her left sleeve are sharp & crisp. Gently tinted cheeks plus gilded buttons & jewelry. A very clean dag. Prof. re-sealed. Slight buff marks visible if viewed at a certain angle. Housed in a full leatherette case (bird & nest design) with intact repaired hinge & 2 working latches. The velvet pad is as fresh as new. $ 175
