                 DAG 5

Sixth-plate. Unattributed early Daguerreotype of an American Beauty. Serene & lovely. Perfect lighting & exposure. Excellent contrast & focus. Clean & brilliant. The specks you see are for the most part from my scanner....some are under the glass which is not sealed. The linear speck above & to the left of her head is on the plate.  In addition there are some minor, very faint rust spots on the dark dress and some in the upper area which I only noticed just now  when I tilted it under the light. You can see the gray area ones in the close up scan above. No big deal really. Softly tinted cheeks & gilded brooch. Nice tonal range in the dark areas. No buff marks. Housed in a fine full leather case with intact hinge & working catches. I might add that the close up is a more accurate likeness of the original than the actual size scan.  $ 215
Please note: I make every effort to create a scan that mirrors the actual image as close as possible. Viewed on my screen it is as close in color, contrast & sharpness as can be achieved with the equipment at hand. Generally, what you see is inferior to the real thing. All scans are matched to the image when viewed in the light of a 20 watt Halogen reading lamp which sits by my computer. I adjust the controls for accuracy only, NEVER to enhance.
