1/4 Plate. Unattributed. Isn't she grand? Such dignity. Not flashy, just fashionable. Velvet cape with braided clasps fall over the heavy & expensive satin skirt. Note the velvet handbag. She's wearing a blouse with gorgeous lace collar & cuffs. The silk ribbons in her hair & the fingerless gloves complete this well to do Lady's ensemble. Technically the image is better than I was able to show here. Excellent clarity & contrast. The emulsion is on the front which is the reason for the slight surface scratches (only visible when viewed at an angle) & some evidence of mat marks.
