Unattributed American Ambrotype with ID. 1
of a Pair (see Ambro 2) sold separately
but should be kept together. Found in NY State. A flawless Image. The
emulsion is on the back of the glass which preserved it so perfectly.
Intact original varnish. The details of the gent's vest are
incredible. The boy moved slightly which gives the image a lovely
tender feeling. ID'd as above. Far crisper than these scans. Full
leatherette case with repaired outer hinge. Embossed
velvet pad.

Please note: I make every effort to create a scan that mirrors the actual image as close as possible. Viewed on my screen it is as close in color, contrast & sharpness as can be achieved with the equipment at hand. Generally, what you see is inferior to the real thing. All scans are matched to the image when viewed in the light of a 20 watt Halogen reading lamp which sits by my computer. I adjust the controls for accuracy only, NEVER to enhance. |
