5W1 LIMOGES TURKEY OYSTER PLATE

Description Elegant all Ivory & Gold with a different sea creature in each well which sets it apart from most of the other Turkey Oyster Plates produced by this firm. This one is of the same design as the famous President Rutherford version which was commissioned to defray the cost of the Limoges White House Dinner Set by being offered for sale to the public. Those plates bear the Presidential Seal on verso. This plate is transfer printed with hand applied gilding. I have 2 more. All vary slightly with either different creatures or different arrangements of them. The details are incredibly fine which doesn't come across in my photos. Minor loss to gilding here & there consistent with age.
Condition No cracks, hairlines or chips but 2 have had a very minor rim repair. Some loss to gilding.
